A Few Guidelines When Installing a Driveway Gate |

Call 811 "Underground Service Alert" before you dig. It is a free service to locate underground utility lines. Make sure your post holes are square. Round holes will widen as the post weight shift with gate movement. A gate hinge post should be about 36" deep. You can save $2000 to $5000 on a gate installation by doing it yourself.

Driveway Gate Setbacks
| Ideal: Setback 20'-35' Enough room to accommodate a large vehicle. It is good to keep in mind that trucks will be using the entrance. | Acceptable: Minimal Setback 15'-20' Main objective is to have the vehicle off the road. |
Less than Ideal For safety use a fast speed operator and a 200' range transmitter so gate is open or partially open by the time the vehicle arrives. | ||
