Solar Power

Featured Products

Solar Power for driveway gate operators is an excellent option if you live in an area which receives adequate sunlight year-round. Solar Panels are available for both 12V & 24V gate operators and are available in various wattages. The wattage required depends upon how much sunlight the location receives and the duty cycle of the operator. If  larger wattage collects more sunlight vs a smaller wattage. In general, you will save money if the opener draws less current requiring a smaller solar panel.

Platinum Access, Apollo and US Automatic solar gate operators have low current draws. If the solar gate is in an area that has long overcast periods you should consider adding larger or extra batteries. A charging controller should be used on solar panels larger than 10 watts. See Diagram

Solar System Federal Tax Credit

The Federal Tax Credit for Installation of Solar Systems is equal to 30% off the total installed cost of the solar operator system. This only applies to the automation, not to the cost of physical gate itself or its installation. The property must be located in the United States and be used as a residence by the taxpayer.
